The Meistersingers

The Meistersingers Civic Chorus is known for presenting some of the most creative, respected, and well-attended cultural events in the region. Multiple unique concerts make up a season that includes everything from pops to Handel’s Messiah and other choral masterworks. Local, regional, and national stars are presented as guest artists. The Meistersingers personnel include talented amateurs and professional vocalists from throughout the area. Highlights from former seasons include Poulenc’s brilliant a capella choral work, Mass in G, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Mozart’s Coronation Mass, and several world premieres.

Offering outstanding choral music to residents of Hattiesburg and the surrounding areas, The Meistersingers have created lasting memories with exceptionally entertaining concerts, galas, and musical productions.

 

FestivalSouth

FestivalSouth is an annual multi-week, multi-genre festival that presents a variety of musical and arts entertainment that transcends all social, cultural, and economic lines.
From Blues to Broadway, Classical to Bluegrass, FestivalSouth's outstanding artists offer music to satisfy the tastes of every music-lover.

With FestivalSouth, Hattiesburg becomes "Mississippi's Music Destination." Cultural tourists and locals alike enjoy free as well as ticketed events. In addition to presenting high-quality musical entertainment, FestivalSouth also teaches the next generation of young people through educational programs led by experienced professionals.
